Can jokes be translated ?? Big question

Can jokes be translated ?? I really wonder . Will they ever sound as funny like in the original language. Are jokes bound to culture so much that they be inseparable from it?? Is translating humour a funny buisness at all ?? What do you think of dubbed comedy sitcom on TV ,?? Are you amused by such translated jokes?? I need your Feedback

I think that translting the jokes,word be word,will make it unfunny, but translating the meaning, will make it funny in some distance, because some jokes are related to the culture of its country...

i used to translate jokes and share them
with my colleagues

we really laughed alot

however
as you have mentioned
they are somehow bound to culture
may be my friends understand what i want to say
but i'm not sure about the natives

jokes can be translated as you said , they will be grounded to its culture

But, no one can translate jokes, you need to have a sense of humor
