Membership of SAOLT
I. Membership of SAOLT is accessible to the following:
- Specialists in linguistics, literature or translation.
- Interested in the study of languages and translation.
- Organizations, associations and institutions interested in SAOLT and membership will be open as a corporate or as a member under the terms of membership.
II. Types and conditions of membership
A. Active membership: Granted to those holding a diploma or higher degree in one of the specializations of the Association.
B. Associate Membership: Granted to the following:
1) University students in languages and translation.
2) Those working or interested in one of the specializations of the Association and who do not meet the requirements set for the Active Membership.
Associate members are exempted from 50% of the fees of the annual membership subscription. Also, they may attend meetings of the General Assembly, its various Committees, and participate in discussions without having the right to vote or nominate themselves or others for membership of the Board of Directors.
